The Hub Community Bike Shop advocates for the use of bicycles as an alternative form of transportation.

The Hub opened its doors in Bellingham, WA, in March 2002 as a self-supported cooperative run by an experienced volunteer staff dedicated to keeping cycles in motion.  Unique to The Hub is its focus on recycled and utilitarian bicycles. The Hub offers self-service shop space for rent, high quality reconditioned bikes, professional full service tune-ups and repairs, and bicycle parts for sale. Registered as a non-profit organization, The Hub reaches out to the greater Bellingham community by hosting such events as a Bike to Work and School Day Pancake Feed, visiting local schools to teach issues regarding bicycling and bike safety, and providing bicycle donations to low income families and individuals.

The Hub offers:

  • Self-service shop for rent
  • High quality reconditioned bikes
  • Professional full service tune-ups and repairs
  • Used parts and some new parts for sale

The Hub Community Bike Shop fulfills its purpose by way of numerous volunteer hours, donations of used bikes and parts, memberships, and revenue from sales and services.  People interested in becoming involved are encouraged to come to a volunteer night and familiarize themselves with the shop and our great staff and volunteers.

Throughout the year The Hub, under its umbrella organization known as the Pedal Project, sponsors several community outreach programs.
